Community Power Group could not develop energy projects without close relationships with public and private landowners. When leasing land to Community Power Group, all parties involved benefit. The following explores the general process behind leasing land with CPG:
- CPG connects with a landowner with ideal access to electrical infrastructure. While CPG often investigates land to determine optimal facility sites, we can also investigate your land if if you think your property is a right fit for an energy project.
- CPG will write up a lease document outlining rent payments, the size of the energy project, the location of the project, and other essential details regarding the agreement. We also provide a lease summary that avoids the legal jargon for easy to understand reading.
- Once a lease document is signed, we find a third party to purchase the energy. Once that is completed, the landowner will begin to receive rent payments as soon as the first shovel hits the ground.
- Once construction is finished, the landowner will receive this fixed income for the agreed upon period.
Community solar projects will typically be built on parcels ranging from 10-20 acres and run from 20-35 years. Throughout this time period, agreed upon monthly rent installments are sent to the landowner. We aim to make this process as easy as possible for the landowner. Once construction of the facility is finished, the site will be monitored remotely and there will be little to no on-site disturbance for maintenance.
We are currently seeking community and larger scale projects throughout several states. If you or someone you know owns land that you think may be perfect for a renewable energy project, please contact us!
